Spring

Spring is finally here. There are daisies blooming all over the lawn at school and the Kindergartners pick them and bring me teeny little sweet bouquets every day. Sometimes at PE I look over and a few little girls will be sitting in a circle with the sun glinting off their hair making flower chains. Of course, a rough and tumble boy will usually roll by laughing... making the picture complete. We are down to only 30 more days. It is such a bittersweet thing to have finally created a community of learners who all understand their place... who mostly make good choices and work hard and laugh and feel comfortable and productive. It is such a golden time these last 30 days. They are learning by leaps and bounds. They read and add numbers and ask real questions. And soon they will be gone. Moving on to a new teacher, a new routine. They will poke their heads in and say hi. They may even visit and play in my room for a few minutes each morning, but it will not be the same. I miss them already.
